South West Coast Path

Please let us know if you are walking the South West Coast Path

We have a lot of people stay with us who are walking the South West Coast Path. If you need somewhere to stay in Woolacombe, look no further. We are aware that you probably only require 1 night but if we can accommodate you we will. Please speak to us to check availability.

We offer a free pick up service from Mortehoe or Woolacombe by prior arrangement and recommend that you eat whilst in either of these villages as we are not next to any eating establishments and then we will pick you up around 7 to 8pm. You can then walk down hill the following day to resume your walk.

Luggage Transfers will transport your luggage ahead of you to our B&B and then collect it afterwards to take it onto your next destination. Please click on the button above for more information.

Follow the public footpaths sign

If you would like to take a walk whilst staying with us we have plenty of walking books which you can borrow during your stay.

View from the footpath going down to Woolacombe

Just a few of our local walks which take in the glorious views on the coastal path

Woolacombe to Croyde - 5 miles

This walk takes in two superb blue flag beaches. Starting in the popular resort of Woolacombe, you can choose to walk along the sandy beach or on the cliffs behind for around two miles as far as Putsborough Sands. The path then rounds the spectacular headland of Baggy Point into the pretty village of Croyde, where there is a superb beach.

Ilfracombe to Combe Martin - 5 miles

This walk begins in the popular resort of Ilfracombe. The path climbs out of Ilfracombe to Hillsborough, giving excellent views back to Ilfracombe. From here the path passes Hele Bay then rounds the coast to the small Harbour at Watermouth. After Watermouth the path rounds the coast into the town of Combe Martin, with the longest village street in the country. There are excellent views towards Little Hangman and Great Hangman on the Exmoor coast beyond.

Ilfracombe to Woolacombe - 8 miles

This is a very pleasant and scenic walk. Beginning in the popular resort of Ilfracombe, the path climbs out of the town onto the spectacular National Trust owned Torrs Walk into the village of Lee. There views on this section of the path are excellent and it is well maintained. There is a short section of road walking into Lee Bay, where there is a beach, consisting of slate from the cliffs. After Lee the path passes the spectacular headlands of Bull Point and Morte Point before arriving at Woolacombe. Woolacombe has a wonderful sandy beach, popular with surfers, spreading for a couple of miles to the South.

Barnstaple to Braunton - 6 miles

This walk follows the Tarka Trail from Barnstaple, the principal town of North Devon, west along side the river Taw. The walk follows the course of the old Barnstaple to Ilfracombe railway line and offers fine views of the river for much of the walk.
